Energy efficient canopy lighting upgrade - Holmer Road, Hereford

Replacement of old Sodium 400Watt canopy lighting with energy efficient twin 55Watt PL fluorescent fittings along with individual rows being controlled by presence detectors in the canopy allowing each row to independently dim to 20% light output when unnoccupied for a predetermined time - restoring to full brightness immediately on detection of an approaching vehicle.  Overall lux sensor control to turn lights off when above minimum preset level and turn canopy on only during darkness hours.

The original energy survey carried out predicted payback in this circumstance could be achieved in under 1 year and lighting calculations confirmed the chosen lights would exceed the minimum lux level at ground required.

The total job took under 3 days to complete while the site remained operational, and on completion, lux levels had substantially increased and total site electrical consumption had reduced by 28.1%.
